Randy Anderson, AICP, Planning Director from the Shawnee County Planning Office, came in to Hope Street on Tuesday, August 17th. Ms. Koontz's Extending Algebra and Geometry class is learning about tiny homes and will be doing several activities leading up to a project where students will design and plan their own tiny home.
Students will be learning about how the city of Topeka defines a tiny home and the regulations surrounding the building of tiny homes. A tiny home community is planned for the city. There are several mathematical and real-world application goals for this project. The students will be working on their tiny home plans the entire semester.
